Women and Mentoring (WAM) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting cisgender and transgender women and non-binary people who are in contact with the legal system.
We deliver a mentoring program that connects participants with trained volunteer mentors providing trauma-informed, strengths-based support to strengthen safety, connection and stability. Alongside mentoring, WAM works to shift systems and narratives affecting criminalised women through lived experience advocacy, creative projects and community-building initiatives that centre voice, visibility and systemic change.
Our work operates across metro and regional Victoria, and we are growing our reach into more communities using a blended in-person and remote mentoring model to ensure support is accessible.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to commence from 1st July (approx.). This is a hands-on delivery role within WAM’s mentoring team, supporting participants across both metropolitan and regional Victoria. You will build and manage a caseload of approximately 10-15 active mentoring matches, conducting intake, assessment, matching and ongoing coordination of mentoring relationships.
You will work closely within a collegiate team while also operating independently. A key focus of the role is to quickly build strong working knowledge of WAM’s model, establish trusted relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to strengthening referral pathways and access to mentoring across Victoria.
This role suits someone who can confidently step into a live caseload, work relationally and responsively, and contribute to both day-to-day delivery and broader organisational reach.
While this role requires significant autonomy, you will collaborate with a passionate team to ensure the program’s success and alignment with WAM’s values and strategic goals.

Participant Intake & Assessment: Oversee intake processes for participants, including eligibility and needs assessments; provide warm referrals to appropriate community services; support participants to strengthen safety, stability and engagement with supports.
