Alinea International, an international development consultancy, is hiring a Project Coordinator in Accra, Ghana to work on the Field Support Services Project. The successful candidate will have at least 6 years of project coordination experience and will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager in developing, planning, and prioritizing deliverables. The Project Coordinator will be part of a team that delivers services to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Canada's international assistance programming in Ghana.

Overview

The Field Support Services Project aims to deliver services that support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Canada's international assistance programming in Ghana. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring operational effectiveness, risk and results management, and timely delivery of activities.

  • The project will enable DFATD to respond efficiently to evolving priorities and alignment with recipient countries' development priorities and needs.

Role & Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager in developing, planning, and prioritizing all deliverables and DFATD task requests. The Project Coordinator will also contribute to documenting and preparing quality reports and deliverables.

  • Coordinate and track DFATD task requests, ensuring quality implementation and reporting from Technical Specialists.
  • Identify issues as they arise and recommend adjustments to the Project Manager and Designated Stakeholders when required.
  • Assist in identifying and sourcing Technical Specialists when technical expertise and technical assistance are needed in response to DFATD task requests.
  • Coordinate logistical services, such as vehicle rentals, travel, and contracting arrangements for Technical Specialists/subcontractors and third parties or Designated Stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in political science, law, international development, economics, finance, business administration, project management, social sciences, applied sciences, or similar.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of project coordination or administrative experience on donor-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating at least 2 international development projects in the last 7 years.
  • Skilled at coordinating logistics such as meetings, events, transportation of goods, booking hotels, flights/transportation, and applications for visa or other documents.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in additional language(s) is an asset.
