Girls Not Brides, a global partnership of over 1,400 civil society organisations, is recruiting a full-time External Engagement Coordinator to support its Policy and Advocacy Department. The successful candidate will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, or London, UK, and will work on a 2-year fixed-term contract, contributing to international advocacy efforts aimed at ending child marriage worldwide. With a team of multidisciplinary professionals, the coordinator will play a central role in ensuring effective collaboration across the organisation.

Overview

The External Engagement Coordinator will work within the Policy and Advocacy Department, supporting collaboration across the organisation’s Policy & Advocacy, Communications, and Development teams. Girls Not Brides is a global partnership united by a shared mission to end child, early, and forced marriages and unions, with a current strategic goal to reduce the global prevalence of child marriage from one in five girls in 2025 to one in seven by 2030.

Role & Responsibilities

The External Engagement Coordinator will provide project coordination, event management, planning support, and operational oversight to enable the organisation’s teams to work cohesively toward shared objectives.

  • Coordinate Cross-Directorate Projects: support coordination of projects involving the Policy & Advocacy, Communications, and Development teams, track project milestones, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Support International Events: plan and coordinate high-profile events, including webinars, convenings, donor meetings, and high-level engagements, and maintain post-event reports, attendance records, feedback, and lessons learned.
  • Strengthen Directorate Coordination: support the daily functioning of the External Engagement Directorate, ensuring clear documentation, ownership, and accountability across project teams.
