Vital Voices Global Partnership is hiring a Director of Global Philanthropy to advance its philanthropic revenue through major gifts and strategic donor engagement. Reporting to the Chief External Relations Officer, this senior role manages a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and philanthropic partners — cultivating and securing significant unrestricted, restricted, and multi-year commitments in support of Vital Voices' mission to invest in women leaders tackling the world's greatest challenges.
Vital Voices has supported leaders who went on to become Nobel Peace Laureates, Prime Ministers, and breakthrough social entrepreneurs. This role is part of the team that makes that work possible. Based in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid schedule, two in-person days per week required at VVHQ.
What You'll Do
- Fundraising strategy — develop and execute a comprehensive global philanthropy strategy to grow philanthropic investment in Vital Voices' programs and long-term sustainability
- Major gifts — manage a qualified portfolio of major gift prospects and donors; identify opportunities for six- and seven-figure commitments; lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Donor engagement — build authentic, long-term relationships by connecting donors to Vital Voices' mission, leaders, and impact; partner with Communications and Events teams on donor salons and briefings
- Content — prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports; partner with Executive Leadership and Board members on donor strategy
- Operations — maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce; contribute to annual fundraising planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 8–12 years of progressive fundraising experience
- Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure gifts preferred
- Experience managing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and family foundations
- Strong understanding of major gift fundraising, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Experience working with global organizations, women's leadership, or international development preferred
- Proficiency with Salesforce or equivalent CRM
Compensation & Benefits
