If you have experience in gender equality and masculinities and want to put that expertise to work in a remote Bolivian community, Alinea International's Mujeres Guardianas de la Biodiversidad project has a 6-month consulting role designed for you. Based in the Sur Lipez region, the Consultor en Masculinidades will lead participatory workshops that help men in highland communities become genuine allies for women's leadership in natural resource management.
The contract begins August 2026, runs for six months, and requires 25 working days total — including 15 in the field. Candidates must be based in Uyuni or willing to relocate to the Sur Lipez region.
About the Project
Mujeres Guardianas de la Biodiversidad works across Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru to empower women conserving highland wetlands and turberas — carbon-rich ecosystems critical to Andean climate resilience. The Bolivia component, set in Sur Lipez, focuses on building women's decision-making power in local governance of natural resources. Shifting community gender norms is essential to that work, which is exactly what this consultancy addresses.

Role & Responsibilities
The Consultor en Masculinidades will adapt and facilitate a curriculum on positive masculinities for men and young people in Sur Lipez communities.
- Review existing materials on masculinities and adapt them to the local cultural and linguistic context of Sur Lipez
- Design and implement a participatory training process for men and youth across participating communities
- Facilitate community dialogues on gender equality and women's leadership in natural resource management
- Coordinate with the project team and document lessons learned for project reporting
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in gender equality, masculinities, or community-based gender programming
- Fluency in Spanish; knowledge of Quechua or local languages is a strong asset
- Experience working with rural or indigenous communities in Bolivia or the broader Andes region
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to adapt materials for diverse audiences
- Based in Uyuni or able to relocate to the Sur Lipez region for the duration of the work
