Alinea International is seeking a Canadian Volunteer for a Knowledge & Learning Management position in Tamale, Ghana, as part of the United for Care-sensitive Approaches to Rights and Empowerment (UCARE) project. The volunteer will work for a minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months, and will be supported with a daily living allowance, international travel support, and accommodation. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in international development, with a strong focus on gender-responsive programming and knowledge management.
Overview
The UCARE project is a five-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada, aiming to enhance the realization of women and adolescent girls’ rights to equal distribution of domestic work and reduced burden of unpaid care work in Northern Ghana. The project works collaboratively with national partners, regional and local governments, and local organizations to create an evidence-based, gender-responsive, and care-sensitive policy and programming environment.
- Implemented in 10 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the Northern, Northeast, and Savannah regions
- Covers both urban and rural communities, reaching 225,000 women and men, and adolescent girls and boys
- Partners with local organizations using the Gender Model Families approach to recognize, reduce, and redistribute the burden of unpaid care work
Role & Responsibilities
The Canadian Volunteer will contribute to the implementation of the UCARE project, with a focus on strengthening Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) capabilities of the SEND UCARE team.
- Support the development of MEL plans and tools
- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Provide technical assistance to the SEND UCARE team on knowledge management and learning
